Stittsville sweeps
competition in Cleaning the Capital Campaign
I am
pleased to announce that the Stittsville community has won
the City’s Fall Cleaning the Capital “Ward Award,” which is
presented to the ward with the highest participation rate
for the fall campaign.
The spring and fall Cleaning the
Capital campaigns encourage and support community
involvement in the City’s seasonal clean-up efforts. This
year both campaigns achieved record participation with more
than 87,000 residents participating in litter pick-up and
graffiti removal projects. Stittsville parks, pathways,
sportsfields and creeks were cleaned by 1,500 volunteers
this past fall. City staff are already gearing up for
the spring 2010 campaign. Online registration starts March
15 and the campaign runs from April 15 to May 15.
Thank
you for helping to keep Ottawa clean, green, and
litter-free. The bar is now set for our community during the
fall clean-up!

Santa
arrives to Stittsville
in the 'nick' of time
On December 12, Santa
and his helpers paid a
special visit to the
community of
Stittsville, just in
time to receive
Christmas wish lists.
Dozens of children
eagerly waited in line
to catch a glimpse of
Santa Claus, and have a
chance to personally
meet him. As well, kids
had an opportunity to
decorate gingerbread
cookies and take in some
holiday cheer with
friends and family.
